Camp Angel Tree is for girls and boys who have completed first through third grade (ages 9-12) and who have a parent in prison. Campers participate in swimming, Bible studies, and organized games, as well as chapel services and other exciting programs. Up to 120 girls, supervised by trained female cabin leaders, attend Camp Mundo Vista and up to 120 boys, supervised by trained male cabin leaders, attend Camp Caraway. Both camps are held on the same dates and the camps are located on Caraway Mountain Road, just outside of Asheboro, NC. Prison Fellowship church volunteers assist with camping needs and transportation. These camps are sponsored by North Carolina WMU and Baptist Men in partnership with Prison Fellowship.
Opportunities for individuals to assist with Camp Angel Tree include but are not limited to:
- Camper sponsorship/donations which can be made to WMU of North Carolina for girls and NC Baptist Men for boys. (While all donations are welcome, it costs approximately $175 for each girl to attend Camp Mundo Vista. This cost involves a higher ratio of staff:camper, cost of canteen and shirt store items and additional events that are provided for this camp.)
- Volunteers are needed to transport the children to camp.
(If you are willing to provide transportation service, contact our Children's Specialist.)
