Ways to Get Involved

So, you want to have an active missions group… What will you do? For many groups the motivation to do things is not a problem – the problem is finding things to do. Fortunately, there are a lot of ways to get involved, both by creating your own projects and getting involved with others’. Below are some opportunities and resources to find out more about them.

The key to finding something to do is finding needs of people around you. We should never forget, though, that the primary goal of our activity is not social work: it is missions.

Project Ideas: Start with needs in your community. How can you help meet their physical and emotional needs and give them Christ at the same time? Do homeless people need food, clothes, blankets? Do children need school supplies, jackets, tutoring? Do sick people need help with day-to-day things, encouragement, comfort, friends? Do single moms need childcare? Do illiterate people need education? Do elderly need help running errands or getting to doctor appointments? Find and need and fill it – and share Christ!
