Age Level Organizations

Welcome to the World of Woman’s Missionary Union

Even from the very beginning of the Old Testament, God reveals His ultimate plan for all people to be in relationship to Him. This plan is continued through the New Testament as Jesus is sent to be our Savior through His sacrifice. All through the Bible is the thread of missions – that all peoples, everywhere, will know Him.

The heart of Woman’s Missionary Union is missions. That is our reason for being. As leaders and members of WMU organizations, we need to constantly remember our reason for being.

We follow the missions mandate by following these areas of missions focus:
  • Pray for Missions
  • Engage in Mission Action and Witnessing
  • Learn about Missions
  • Support Missions
  • Develop Spiritually Toward a Missions Lifestyle
  • Participate in the Work of the Church and Denomination
Missions work may be done by the entire church in churchwide emphases and activities and it may be done through the age-level organizations:
  • Preschoolers: Mission Friends (boys and girls birth through pre-first grade)
  • Children: Girls in Action (girls ages 6-11 or grades 1-6) and Children in Action (boys and girls ages 6-11 or grades 1-6)
  • Youth: Acteens (girls ages 12-17 or grades 7-12) and Youth on Mission (boys and girls ages 12-17 or grades 7-12)
  • Students: Missions Interchange (Undergraduate Collegiate Women)
  • Adults: Women on Mission (adult women ages 18 up), Adults on Mission (adult men and women ages 18 up), MyMission (an internet approach for young women in their 20s and 30s) and Sisters Who Care (Women on Mission for African-American women)
  • Families on Mission: WMU’s approach to involving families with preschoolers, children and teenagers in missions
