Professional Women’s Leadership Network

The focus of this new venture is on helping women who may or may not already be involved in WMU to discover their God-given gifts and use them in missions and ministry.

This group includes professional women such as attorneys/judges, physicians, professors/deans, corporate executives, business owners, educator executives, etc.

In other words, Christian women who are very busy, but want to discover how they can use their gifts and skills in missions and ministry. A group of these women is in place to make plans for future events, missions projects and networking.

If your profession places you in one of the categories mentioned above, please send your name and contact information to the WMU office at jhigh@wmunc.org and you will begin receiving updates and information.

Be watching this website and Tarheel Talk for upcoming events such as luncheons and brunches with a hands-on mission project included in the day.

Special Meeting at Missions Extravaganza

Join us for Missions Extravaganza at Ridgecrest, April 16-18, 2010, for an After-Session Fellowship at 9:00 on Friday evening in Rhododendron 3. Meet other professional women and hear about exciting plans for networking and missions involvement.

Mission Project – Make 50 Birthing kits to be used by mid-wives in Zimbabwe. Kits will be put together on Friday afternoon/evening. An offering will be taken at the fellowship to cover the cost of items and transporting the kits. (The items for the kits will be purchased before the meeting.) The following are items that have been requested in addition to the birthing kit items – please bring one or more of these items with you to Missions Extravaganza.

  • Rattle or small toy for the baby
  • Sample packages of Betadyne
  • Hotel size soap
  • Children’s vitamins
  • Colorful, clean, new or gently used scarves for the women

We will also be divided into groups by the region of the state so you can get to know each other better and make plans for future projects. We are excited about the potential of these efforts and we hope you will join us at Ridgecrest. You must be registered with Ridgecrest to attend but do not have to register for the fellowship itself. Visit the Missions Extravaganza page for registration information or contact Jan High at jhigh@wmunc.org or 866.210.8602 x 206 if you have questions.
